Self-Sovereign Identities and the Enabeling of Reliance on Third Party Data
A consortium of researchers, technicians and business people from different organizations have been working on a framework that enables end-users to control their identity-related data, and service providers to obtain verified claims about the end-users from a variety of third parties, for the purpose of conducting electronic (business) transactions (EBTs). This framework is called the SSIF (Self-Sovereign Identity Framework).
In this session, we present the backgrounds of the SSIF, which are firmly rooted in proven models and technologies, as well as a novel way of addressing terminological issues (semantics). We invite you to discuss with us about the merits (and drawbacks) of the framework, as well your readiness and willingness to participate in experiments that aim to improve the ways in which EBTs are done currently, and come up with new kinds of EBTs that were not possible before.
*Because of the complexity of the subject, we would like the audience to already know the basics of blockchain, identity, semantics and service architectures.
